NAR
Nardò - Puglia 2024
This project was realised in Nardò, Apulia, in collaboration with Viavaiproject. The work is dedicated to the area, which has its roots in an ancient and rich history. ‘It is said that the city was built where a bull, scraping the ground with his hoof, made water gush out, tracing the etymology of the name back to the Illyrian ‘NAR’, which means water. The town has very ancient roots and strong evidence from every era, from prehistoric times onwards. There are numerous finds in the Bay of Uluzzo, in the various caves, especially in that of ‘Uluzzu’ and ‘Cavallo’. The archaeological elements found in these two caves are considered to be the earliest manifestations of figurative arts existing in Europe, catalogued in the Middle and Upper Palaeolithic.’ Thanks to Matteo for involving me in this project.
